ALOR PAKHI FOUNDATION has started their journey since 11th of June 2017. The main tasks of Alor Pakhi Foundation are to provide special education and management for the special need’s children. These includes Schooling, Child Development Centers, Therapy Units, Psychological Counseling, Teacher Training, Outings, Cultural Studies, Home Programs, Parent Counseling, Awareness Activities. 

Behind the formation of this organization there is a story and the contribution of some social people. Story is about the struggle of a mother with a special needs child. For realization the rights of those children Alor Pakhi Foundation were made. Jhumona Mullick (Jhumi) is a local resident of old Dhaka. She has been leading her career in the IT world since 2005. Moreover, she is involved with various social activities. In 2009, a baby named Labiba came into her lap. Every parent’s heart is filled with joy when they see their child growing up with a smile. But when Labiba was 5 months old, Jhumona Mullick (Jhumi) noticed some abnormalities in her and sought medical help.

When Labiba was three and a half years old, the doctor advised her to go to a special school. But, as there is no special school in old Dhaka, Labiba was no longer goes to school. There are a few special schools in New Dhaka which are far away. It is indescribably painful for a special child to travel for 2/3 hours in old Dhaka where normal people are struggling to travel.

Then Jhumona Mullick (Jhumi) realizes that there are many parents like her in old Dhaka who cannot afford to send their special children to school because there is no special school.
